Hybrid Model-Based and Machine Learning Approaches for Statistical Signal Detection

Abstract

Model-based learning, which combines classical statistical methods with machine learning algorithms, is a recent promising trend in signal processing. Hybrid approaches have indeed the potential to boost the performance while providing at the same time control and interpretability. The talk provides an overview on some recent work in this respect for the specific problem of signal detection, with focus on multi- dimensional data arising in adaptive radar detection but also other contexts.
